My paintings are more of visual observations of elements/nature/objects around me that I process and interpret through the use of various materials that allow me to express in a more layered form (more experimental than uniformed) as I work through the process until I see and feel it; or in a more literal form, not as many layers but deeper in content.
Inspired by the natural world, I frequently move from black and white in my photography to a more vibrant, multicolored imagery of abstraction in both my oil and encaustics works.
I build a bridge between ideals of expression and understanding, and the most basic sense of communication; working from within a spiral, an emotional and instinctive place. It has to “feel” right, not necessarily “think” right!
